WHAT SHOULD MCCAIN SAY AT THE DEBATE TUESDAY?

What do you think John McCain should say at the Debate tonight?  Here are four things I'd like to hear him talk about.

1. He should come out on stage and announce that he has talked at length with Governor Palin and environmental experts in Alaska and has been convinced that we should open ANWR to drilling as soon as possible. Then he should define an initiative to increase domestic oil and natural gas production, and outline how it will increase jobs, revitalize the economy, and make our country more secure. He should also announce tax free development of alternative fuels. All corporate activities that are engaged solely in the development and production of alternative fuels will be free of all forms of federal tax for a period of 5 years.

2. He should state that he supports full Judicial review of the new "bailout" law ( Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008) to make certain that it meets constitutional requirements. He should also say that he wants to work with the congress to rewrite the law , to take more time without the pressure of President Bush and Secretary Paulson and alarmists in congress declaring the end of days for our economy, and find a market based resolution that will work for the people, rather than an emergency government crutch. He should also state that he intends to put a stop to the practices that contributed to the housing market problems by removing the regulation burdens on banks to accept loan applications from people who are bad credit risks or have not demonstrated an ability to maintain payments for such a loan.

3. He should say that he wants to cut capitol gains tax by 50% to re-invigorate investment in, and by, us corporations and stocks. Foreign markets invest in the US because of the freedom we have here to be entrepreneurial, and create wealth from ideas. This sort of free market spirit of enterprise is not nearly as prevalent in any other country on earth. Both Foreign and Domestic investors flock to the US stock market to grab a piece of the next great innovation in fresh startups, or to get in on the next great advance in long standing companies. The bailout package is antithetical to the whole process. It artificially props up corporations whose practices are not sound. So we need to move away from Government support of the marketplace and take burdens out of the way.  He should say that Obama and the Democrats are exactly wrong when they say that there was not enough regulation. It was regulations forcing banks to lower thier standards for loan applications that sparked the housing slump and he needs to state it clearly and fearlessly.

4. McCain MUST expound upon the greatness of this country. He must take the opportunity of the debate to point out the times that Obama has said this country is not what it could be, and he should look in the camera and say " I profoundly disagree with Senator Obama.., I say this country is *better* than it could be. It "could" be strapped with a socialist healthcare system like Canada or Great Britain.  It could be like Venezuela whose government has seized control of private businesses forcing privately held energy companies to accept state control of thier operations. We are better than that, far better because we have faith in the people of the country to develop thier own path to prosperity and to manage thier own personal needs. We don't believe people's lives should be managed and controlled by government bureaucracies."
