THE LAST GASP OF THE NEW YORK TIMES

Newspapers, such as the New York Times, are agenda driven and they attempt to shape opinion with thier choice of stories, they do not let events determine what is news worthy. The constantly declining circulation proves that they are sinking to feeding an ever tightening niche audience of radicals who expect partisan attacks on any political issue rather than fair and balanced and truthful reporting. They print for thier spoon fed audiences and not for the wide open masses. The new media, the blogosphere, talk radio, XM, newsletters that cater to individual tastes, and networks like Fox News that are not driven by an inside agenda but rather by delivering a factual accounting of the  events of the day or the week..., have served to cut down once giant news media machines like the NY Times to the point where they only appeal to thier own rigidly ideological readership.  The Audit Bureau of Circulations reports that the daily version of the NY Times is at a current circulation of 1,077,256 which is down from the previous year, and they continue to sink.

Now, on to the latest attacks on Sarah Palin. At a recent fund raising event she said the following ;

"We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C. We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, pro-America areas of this great nation. This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans. Those who are running our factories and teaching our kids and growing our food and are fighting our wars for us. Those who are protecting us in uniform. Those who are protecting the virtues of freedom."

For this innocent statement she has been ridiculed, derided, and in general attacked as she always is by the politically motivated left wing press for every statement she makes on anything at all.  The mistake Sarah made here, and always makes,  is that she forgets she's not allowed to express her own opinion.  Her opinion of what makes America great must  match the views of the left wing press, or she's ridiculed as a rube from an outland of snowblind posers. Well, Sarah said it herself back at her convention speech, she's not going to DC to please the media.  And we love that attitude in her. We love it when the liberal press is flummoxed and angry and panicked and flabergasted at Sarah, because it exposes them for the hyper-partisan yellow dog Democrats they are, as they attempt to hide behind a window dressing of impartiality and fairness. Sarah is absolutely correct to point out that some areas of our country produce a higher ratio of openly displayed genuine patriotism than others. We all know, even the liberal press knows..., that there are rabid anti-American hate mongers foaming at the mouth in all sorts of places around our country.  Barack Obama could introduce you to several of the more prominent ones since he has allied himself with some of the most vicious examples. We have been long exposed to the inbred hatered of middle America by the liberals of this country who think that the average American is a racist, redneck ingnoramus... as that fumble-mouthed idiot congressman John Murtha recently expressed. The entire Democrat leadership on Captiol Hill could easily be declared a gaggle of facist anti-American anti-patriotic narcissists. They held our troops in Iraq hostage time after time by fighting against success, against funding, and deriding the effort at every turn.  It's about time we have some courageous political figure like Governor Palin to point out that this country does have a distinct lack of patriotism in some circles. We already know this is the truth, but it takes a real leader to state fearlessly that fact in an open forum in front of a hostile media. Sarah has what it takes to do that. Frankly we'd all be much better off with  a President Palin than a President Obama or a President Biden.

KATIE COURIC AND CHARLES GIBSON NO LONGER EXIST

Grace under fire, charm in the lion's den, impact in the red zone. Tonight , if you watched the Vice Presidential debate, you saw what real change means.  You saw a creaky senate relic named Joe Biden give a tired old boilerplate political response filled with inaccuracies, to all his questions. And you saw a charming, refreshing, high spirited, well spoken neighbor of yours named Sarah Palin look you in the eyes and with an optimistic high-five tell you "I know what you want Government to do, because I walk the same streets you walk". But let's clear something up with some "straight talk" as Senator McCain might remark. The pundits tonight mostly praised Sarah, while the Obama hacks nit-picked at some of the questions she didn't give full fledged answers to.  But all the praise was still too subdued. What really happened is that Governor Sarah Palin kicked Joe Biden's butt. She did not let him get away with trying to obfuscate his and Obama's records on taxes and the war. She ripped his lies up and threw them right back at him and she did it with charm and a smile on her face. She also did not confine herself to the Moderator's narrow questions but was determined to use her response time to talk about whatever she felt was most important. She took control of the debate format and made the points she wanted to make. Also she did not concede that "global warming" was a man made problem, she understands that climate change is primarily a natural force, while Biden said it was all man made and that our man made global warming was melting the polar ice caps. ( hand him a dunce cap). She sparred with Biden on foriegn policy and showed grit by making sure she got the point across that General Petraeus did not agree with Obama's withdrawal plans. But what was most evident, most clear, is that she is a regular everyday mainstreet woman taking her hometown values and her down to earth way of speaking into the DC eilte arena ..., and they can't compete with her on that level. When Sarah broke into her local dialect at times with her Alaskan accent coming through it was so endearing and so refreshing that even Biden had to smile at it.  What is so striking is really how much Sarah is on a level with the rest of us in terms of knowing what we do and what we care about.  In a very charming interview after the debate, Greta Van Susteren spoke by remote camera with Sarah's brother and sister at a local party they were having in Wasilla Alaska to celebrate Sarah's debate night.  Every question Greta posed to them was answered very straight and very simply with no expansive details, just "yes", "no"  or a brief comment about thier feelings. Sarah and her family are just regular folks, not long winded elite politicians. Most of what they had to express was loud cheers as they waved McCain/Palin signs in the background. And of course they had reason to be very happy. That's the feeling I think we all have about Sarah.  Also what Sarah did tonight was to sweep Katie Couric and Charles Gibson into the media gutter and render her critics powerless. Awesome job tonight Governor Palin, just awesome!

MCCAIN POISONS SARAH PALIN

John McCain and Sarah Palin must win this election.  We simply can not afford an Obama/Biden administration. The attempts to tear down Sarah and John are going to rise more and more over the next few weeks. We need to keep from falling into the trap of buying into those attacks and keep from falling into despair over polling numbers. DO NOT PUT YOUR FUTURE IN THE HANDS OF POLLSTERS! Liberal media pundits will try to dispirit you with unbalanced polling data. Pay no attention to any negative polling. We will win this if we just get out there and vote. That is the absolute bottom line.  Personally, I intend to be first in line on election day to cast my ballot for McCain/Palin and for any and all the Republicans running in my state of Massachusetts. No barking pundits out there trying to assassinate the character and quality of our candidates is going to destroy my enthusiasm to cast my ballot for them this November. No critique of debate performance will matter at all. We should make this the biggest Republican turnout in vote history. Let's embarass the Democrats by drowning them out at the polling booths and putting McCain/Palin in by such huge numbers that the liberal pundits will be choking on thier own tongues in disbelief. We can make this happen.

Now, having said that, I need to vent my disgust about this economic bailout package the Senate passed. Would you like to know why in that AP poll 8 out of ten people say that this economic fallout with the banking industry will effect them?  Because  of all the screaming panicking pundits doing thier very best to scare people out of thier wits, pounding us every day, every night, every waking moment with insane tripe about the end of days for the united states, this has been a sickening display of howling self-serving elitists with delusions of grandeur wanting to call attention to themselves as the go-to illuminati of economic armageddon.  We need political leaders giving us positive reinforcement on the strong values of the American institutions that have made this the greatest place on earth to live, not prophets of doom crying about the apocalypse.  If we are in such horrible, awful dire straits, why are people all over the world still coming by the ten's of thousands to the US to seek economic prosperity? Have they stopped coming here?  No, even with some weakness in the current economy we are still the strongest economic power on earth. Now how many days has it been since the predicted doom of our economy?  Quite  few. And we're still in business, and not in a depression.  Also, John McCain is destroying himself by voting in favor of this bill. He can now no longer get up on the stump and declare that he is opposed to earmarks.  That nice little speech he likes to give where he takes his pen out of his pocket and waves it around, showing how he's going to veto any spending bill with pork in it is now an utter fairytale and he can be called on it all day long.  This was a terrible and unfortunate move for him. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING.  I will still vote for John , but it will be much more an anti-Obama, pro-Palin vote, and much less a pro-McCain vote. This ridiculous vote has caused many Movement Conservatives to want to pull thier McCain dartboards out again. This is the frustrating behavior that Conservatives are so very familiar with from McCain's political career, sadly he has not learned anything at all from this campaign. He has not learned who has his back, namely the Republican base, he has not learned how to keep from alienating the base that he needs to carry him to the White House and give him a mandate. John McCain is a great man, but he can be an infuriating politician. Perhaps the saddest thing of all in this, is that his vote has POISONED Governor Palin. Now , as his running mate, she has to go out and support this asinine vote he made and defend his approving ridiculous earmarks.  If Senator McCain want's to ruin his own political capitol with his inane politics, fine, let him destroy himself, but how dare he drag down Sarah Palin with him? With one hand he did a great thing by giving Sarah Palin a huge chance to boost her political career and credentials and bring a real Conservative up to the forefront, and with the other hand he slaps her in chains and tosses her in the ocean. This is tragic.

VP DEBATE MODERATOR CALLS REPUBLICANS TERRORISTS

Republican politicians, and particularly Conservatives , are tougher than anyone else in politics today.  They need to be, since they are the endless target of nearly all mainstream press smears, screeching left wing zealots supporting every social taboo in existence, and backstabbing political colleagues in the Democrat party. If, despite all this, Conservative politicians stand fast on thier principles then they are by far the toughest politicians around this country today and very worthy leaders. By contrast, Liberal Democrat politicians today can be soft, squishy, and cowardly..., and still be liberal. They get petted by the media, cheered by the screaming extremists, and get thier way with jelly spined moderates in the Republican party. They need exert very little effort to be who they are.  And, Democrat politicians don't need to concern themselves that moderators at debates between Republican and Democrat might be lopsided conservative Republican supporters. They won't be. Never have been.  So, where does that bring us?  Nowhere.  The upcoming debate between Governor Sarah Palin and Senator Joe Biden is being moderated by a woman named Gwen Ifill, who loathes Republicans. Wow.., that's a surprise ( not ). Here's a quote from the gracious Gwen Ifill commenting on Senate Republcians who, in 1998, defeated a bill for campaign finance reform, and Ms. Ifill was obviously not happy that the Senate Republicans expressed satisfaction at having done so..., Here's her quote...,

"It was a bill that was doomed to die. The last time you heard people so eager to claim responsibility for something like this, they were terrorists." — NBC reporter Gwen Ifill, February 27 Washington Week in Review on PBS. ( source = https://www.mediaresearch.org/notablequotables/bestof/1998/best7-9.asp )

Yes, she called Republicans terrorists. This is the fair minded level headed moderator who will be throwing questions of her own design at Sarah Palin.  Now..., don't misunderstand. I actually think this wonderful. What better way to contrast the differences between a strident Liberal extremist woman and a strong confident everyday Conservative woman?  Sarah will come out fine from this, and even more so if Ms. Ifill stoops to trying to sabotage Sarah Palin. If Ms. Ifill gets testy with her Sarah should just flash that friendly smile, answer the questions smoothly, and show that she's not the least bit rattled by spiteful left wing windbags. Nothing irks Liberals more than having no effect on the people they target.

FANTASY PUNDITS VS. SARAH PALIN - GO BACK TO BED

I have a question for those gnostic intelligentsia Conservative pundits out there who have decided to declare unfit the Vice Presidential candidacy of Governor Sarah Palin, because she didn't meet the "high" expectations of an interview with Katie Couric. Do you really believe that how one genuflects before the sophistry of Couric and Gibson and the usual suspects of the narcissistic media is the definition of leadership?  Spare me your self-styled demagoguery and go back to punditizing your fantasies of angels that float down from the heavenly ether to grant you your perfect omnipotent political leader. I'll root my expectations in the "real" world..., if you don't mind. Some may recall all the flack Couric took when she made the move to CBS to take over anchoring the CBS Evening News. They said she was inexperienced, and lacked the credentials.  After all, how could this woman..., fill the shoes of those giants before her, Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. Was there some sexism going on?  Probably, but, she was given a chance to do the job and prove if she could handle it. Sarah Palin has proven that she can handle an executive position. She has proven she can fight for the average citizen and win those battles with strength, confidence, and a genuine smile on her face.  Now, the media has left it up to the quality of dubious sound-bite banter with the likes of Kaite Couric, Charles Gibson, and a few disenchanted analysts and egocentric intellectuals to decipher the worth of her leadership.  What a lot of embarassingly vapid commentary rolling off the tongues of alleged objective reporters.  I continue to be disgusted with the news media in general, and now I even have to sit here and depose the cranky desperation of some knee-jerk Conservatives who can't get past the fact that as VP it is Sarah Palin's most important role to convince the country of the value of a John McCain presidency.  Get over it.  Sarah Palin is qualified to take the role of VP, moreso in my opinion than the highly fallible misanthropic Joe Biden.  A famous philosopher, William F. Buckley Jr..., who sadly passed away recently, once said... "I would rather be governed by the first 2000 names in the Boston phone book than by the Harvard faculty.". I agree with the late Mr. Buckley.  Give me the common citizen's sense of a down-to-earth approach to governance of someone who is closer to the everyday person and more in touch, of someone like Sarah Palin..., rather than the self-aggrandizing snobbery of a Joe Biden or a Barack Obama, any day. Ronald Reagan believed in the virtue and basic common sense of everyday citizens leading the country to greatness,  and so do I.

HACKERS - BOILS THAT SWELL WITH DISEASE

I don't know how many people actually read my little posts I put up in my blog here, but I feel obliged to make mention of this recent report of scummy criminals hacking into Governor Sarah Palin's personal yahoo e-mail account.  These people must be idiots, because this was certainly an insane thing to do if they were hoping to garner public disdain for Sarah Palin by revealing private thoughts or personal comments etc..., or perhaps the attempt was to generate a circus like atmosphere of prying crowds hoping to drag her down into a malaise of grubby probing fingers clawing like animals for a chance to see an e-mailed picture of Trig.  These criminal hackers are pus-filled boils on the back end of society appealing to the lowest common denominator of gazers of  paparazzi photos and garbage digging jackals. The only effect this will have is to raise the wrath of her supporters against these hackers, and generate more support and probably some sympathy as well..., than ever before. I can garantee that Sarah's supporters by choice will not be looking at any of these illegally obtained e-mails because we are not members of the lice infested circles these criminal hackers run in. I hope the fullest measure of the law is brought to bear upon these morally vapid wretches.

ATTACKING THE UNITED STATES ECONOMY

We don't need a President micro-managing the financial industries of the country. Any presidential candidate who ran on the basis of tampering with the operations of private financial institutions and money markets would not get my vote. If AIG can not rescue itself, let the company answer to its customers for its bad decisions and crash if it must. Will people suffer? Some probably will, there are alot of personal assets in big banking institutions, although some are covered by deposit insurance. Government must not take risk away from investment by playing the role of daddy to a wayward child who misspent its money. If you take risk away from normally risky investments you reduce the incentive to manage assests carefully.  Also the fundamentals of our economy are not ruled by three of four banks on wall street.  John McCain was exactly right. The country will continue to function, we will continue to prosper as a country in the big picture of things, and markets will correct themselves. He is smart not to rip the US economy because as a top contender for President everyone around the world is listening to what McCain says. If they think he will be President, and if he is mouthing that the economy sucks in the US he will turn international investors off like a light switch.  The President , as a leader, should be reassuring the country and the world that the US markets are sound and solid investments, not scaring people out of thier wits. What will also debilitate the economy in a widespread form is Obama's plan for raising taxes, especially on capital gains. If you want boost economic activity , lower taxes on all businesses and families to provide more capital and disposable income to generate greater commerce and investment.

Secondly, I wish McCain would stop using Sarah Palin to deliver his liberalized message on increasing regulations on CEO's and big Oil and oversight on private banks and investment firms, and instead let her be the Conservative voice on pushing for oil and natural gas exploration, cutting taxes and promoting Conservative values to our nations court systems. I don't think McCain realizes what Sarah's best asset to his campaign is and how to make the best use of her popularity.  He should not be sending Sarah Palin out to talk about increasing regulations and bureaucracies.

REPRESENTATIVE STEVE COHEN SLASHES AT SARAH PALIN ON THE HOUSE FLOOR

Whether you read the bible, or not, you probably know who Pontius Pilate was and are familiar with the name of Jesus. Those names have been referred to throughout our world's history since they appeared thousands of years ago. As most of us know, Pilate ultimately ordered the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Since most adults and perhaps even most children in this country are generally familiar with the biblical recounting of these events, what was it that inspired Democrat Representative Steve Cohen of Tennessee to believe he needed to refresh that knowledge at the national level? At the podium in the House of  Representatives in DC, Senator Cohen chose to state the following for the record, quoting...

"I submit to you, Mr. Speaker, that the parties have differences. But if you want change, you want the Democratic Party. Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, who our minister prayed about. Pontius Pilate was a governor."

Was Representative Cohen giving a sermon? No. Was he trying to educate the masses about a historical event?  No. He was making a political statement in a clear, blatant, open attempt to compare Barack Obama whose claim to real world experience is as a "Community Organizer"  , to Jesus Christ.  So we are left to guess who he meant for us to think of when he said "Pontius Pilate was a governor".  Let's see. Could he mean Senator Biden?  I doubt it since he was making a statement in favor of the Democrat Party and Biden is Obama's VP. Could it be Senator McCain? No. McCain was never a Governor.  That leaves one candidate on the Republican ticket. Governor Sarah Palin. We all know that he was making a comparison of Sarah Palin to the man who ordered the execution of Jesus Christ. The revered Savior of her own religion, by the way. Representative Cohen is a deeply disturbed man. It requires a tremendous loathing, a deeply embedded hatred of Sarah Palin in his heart to make such a sinister reference. This man is not fit for office. To use the floor of the House Of Representatives to attack in a highly personal and savage manner Governor Palin's character, to suggest that Sarah Palin would in some way like Pontius Pilate be ready and willing to order the execution of the Son of God, whether you believe Jesus to be the Savior or not, displays Cohen's sickness of the mind.  Cohen is Jewish, and so am I.   I am ashamed , and embarrassed to call him a Jew. Judaism is a religion that does not abide using biblical rhetoric to make savage personal attacks on fellow citizens.  Quite the opposite. Cohen should perhaps remember the history of anti-Semitism Jews worldwide have experienced at various intervals.  In fact, during Representative Cohen's own run for office in Tennessee this year, he experienced religious slander against himself in the form of anti-Semitic flyers being distributed with his name on them. The Washington Post has a report on that at the following link; http://blog.washingtonpost.com/sleuth/2008/02/jewish_rep_cohen_battles_antis.html

WHY DO WE WANT MCCAIN/PALIN TO WIN?

I think one reason among many reasons Republican Conservatives are energized as a group over Sarah Palin is that there is a palpable weariness of elected Republicans trying to out-liberal the liberals. The Republican base is fed up with the Republican party officials being worried about not being liked by the NY times, or CNN, or NBC, and always trying to court those biased media outlets by "modifying" thier tone. Frankly, though I love President Bush and respect him immensely, his "new tone" ideas really twisted the arms of Republicans to be more compromising with Democrats, but did nothing to make Democrats more compromising with Republicans. We see in Sarah Palin someone who is tough and confident that her values are right for her life and her family and wouldn't ask others to compromise their own personal values either for the sake of appearing cooperative at the expense of selling your soul. We see someone who knows the potential for people to be great without government making it happen for them. And perhaps most importantly, she is a leader who is a role model for all children of both genders that achievement and accomplishment are there for the making and taking if you have the drive. You don't need to be from an ivy league school, a law professor, an elite club member of the DC illuminati, you can be Sarah Palin , a basketball captain, a PTA member, have a full family life, and still reach for the stars. She restores confidence in the American idea that one ordinary person can make an exceptional difference, and that anyone can be great.

THE TRUTH - LIBERAL WOMEN ARE JEALOUS OF SARAH PALIN

The more I ponder the vitriol and venom that liberal women are spewing like acid  at Sarah Palin, the more I have boiled it down to something less complicated than ideology from them. Sarah Palin is what they wish they could be. These liberal ladies want to have the cheers and throngs of full throated support that Sarah has, and they hate the fact that Sarah is an attractive Republican woman. She's strong, confident, Conservative, happy with her life, beautiful and admired by millions. The liberal female pundits, radical feminists and hollywood kooks who have cultivated thier narrow political audiences are bewildered and jealous over this. Sure there's some ideology mixed in, but I think it's used more as a cover for the seething jealousy of her popularity. To these liberal ladies, "they" are supposed to be the pinnacle of popularity. They have prostituted themsleves to the ideology of a fringe viewpoint , and as a result they get "in" to the elite gatherings of social snobbery that represent that radical view of the country. But , do they really believe the lunacy of the liberalism they spew, or are they towing the line so that they can keep that "in" crowd venue with the mopy miserable depressed liberals who wring thier hands at the unfairness of life, financial success, and carbon-dioxide? I think they secretly wish they could "be" Sarah Palin, because Sarah has not had to go "phony" and be something that "others" want her to be in order to "fit in" with the super egos of radical beligerants. She's not one of them. Sarah doesn't care to rub shoulders with the illuminati of liberal inner circles.  It doesn't make sense to the liberal mindset. In thier world view there are not supposed to be "normal" people in this country.  Or, at least the "normal" people are supposed to be the "fringe" nutcases not the rallying point of the great majority. But the rest of us know why Sarah is popular. Precisely because she represents the core values we cherish most.

WE DON'T NEED KING OBAMA'S IRON THUMB - WE NEED SARAH'S FAITH AND SPIRIT

It's easier to shout at authority when you're not in charge. When you don't have the responsibility of national leadership, you don't have worry about nation wide repercussions. Thursday night Senator McCain and Senator Obama attended a forum on the subject of National Service. It brought back to mind comments made by Senator Obama in July of this year when he criticized President Bush for "merely" telling people that it's important to resume travel and consumer activity after the terrorist strike on 9/11/2001.   Here's what Obama said about President Bush's so-called "failure" to call the nation to duty in the days after 9/11/2001,

"We were ready to step into the strong current of history and to answer a new call for our country. But the call never came"

"Instead of a call to service, we were asked to shop,"

Senator Obama thinks the President should have asked for people to commit themselves to public national service. Okay, fine. Senator Obama is entitled to his opinion. Here's my opinion.  George W. Bush is a dedicated leader, a decent human being, and an absolute gentleman, a man who has worked tirelessly at keeping the country safe, and has genuine faith in the people of the United States.  Listen up Senator Obama. President Bush was exactly right by first and foremost trying to ease the nation's concern about travel and commerce and conducting normal every day business after the terroist attacks.  It's this country's normal every day folks conducting business, working, traveling, shopping that makes the country function and is the source of our strength and stability. The President did not "need" to call people to national service , Senator, because he trusted the people of our fine country to see that need for themselves, and they did.  The call to national service, Senator Obama, was the calling card left by the terrorists. The President does not need to instruct citizens on what thier moral compunction should be. Obama shows a lack of faith in the citizens of the country to see and respond to a need for service. His remarks show that he believes people must be "told what to do and when to do it. That's not leadership in a Democracy, its monarchy in a top down micromanagement of people's lives. We don't need any of that.

Also, we saw Governor Sarah Palin being interrogated by Charlie Gibson last night. No matter how may times I have seen Gibson in the past he always comes across as a snotty pompous asss. He's part of the creeping rot infecting network news and I would like to have seen Sarah interview with a network that has higer ratings and wider audience such as Fox News Channel. Regardless, she did an outstanding job, did not heistate to give clear sharp answers to questions intended to test her knowledge of foreign issues and her personal resolve to be Vice President.  She presented herself well and did the people of Alaska proud and continues to win the hearts of people all across the country. She commits to a common sense practical approach to governance, and by the example of her life and her family she speaks volumes to citizens all across the country. Sarah is the kind of person you cheer for naturally because she's part of the real American experience. There's nothing contrived or phony about her. We love it when she gives that great smile of hers to the throngs of people who come to encourage her and stand with her because it's a reflection of the warmth and spirit of a common desire to feel good about our country. Sarah does that. She makes us feel good about the United States, and proud to share the same spirit and faith in the country that she has.

THE PLASTIC GODS OF NEWS ONLY IMPRESS THEMSELVES

Okay. So here we are.., Governor Sarah Palin will sit for an interview conducted by Charles Gibson.  It's certainly nothing unusual that a politician interviews with a news anchor.  Except for this one. What's so different?  I heard 7 different news media analysts say that this will make or break Sarah Palin. Isn't that special? Doesn't it give you a comfortable trusting feeling about these loose-jawed self-adoring network asses who where bred on pop culture icons that tumble out of American Idol and MTV's "reality" shows?  It doesn't ? Well, me neither. I have some "news" for you,  you styrofoam members of the press..., so-called ( ha-ha) "reporters"... you mirror gazing Divas of narcissism... you can't "break" what you didn't "make". Governor Palin is not a "news" phenomenon. Her appeal is so far beyond anything that the news media understands that they are actually puzzled at her popularity. They "don't" get it, and they "won't" get it, because they "can't" get it.  They don't know "us". They don't know "normal" people and what motivates us to admire someone who has leadership qualities that come from the basic fundamental core values of regular everyday folks. Sarah Palin is one of us. We don't "need" the media gods to introduce her to us. We don't "need" Charles Gibson to question her in order for us to know we have a person in Sarah Palin who understands where are, and what we want.  Sarah will give them thier precious interviews, but they are only fooling themselves if they think they will control her future. Sarah is going to DC as the next VP.  You rabid hyenas of the press can snap at her heels all the way to Washington if you want... but when she gets there the door will close in your faces and your fangs will have nothing to sink into and you will skulk back to your little dens of dubious media still puzzled over why she's so popular and why your ratings are running out like sand through a screen.

FORGET THE POLLS- A REPUBLICAN REVOLUTION MAY BE COMING

Polls are tight. McCain is up in a few , Obama is up in a few. Only one "poll" matters.  That's the poll at the voting booth on election day.  The way that John McCain and Sarah Palin will become the next residents at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is for Republicans to show up in massive waves at thier local voting place and cast thier ballots for the Republican ticket. While they're at it Republicans may want to make sure to vote for any local Republican officials that are up for re-election or are challenging Democrat encumbents. John and Sarah will need all the help from that they can get in the form of sending additional  Republicans to congress. Democrat gains predicted for this midterm are not at all assured.  Especially now. With the Republican Base electrified and eager to put the McCain / Palin ticket into office, there is a very good possibility that not only will Democrats have to fight to obtain any significant gains in the House and Senate, but may lose seats that they thought were safe. Battleground states are changing. If the Republican base stays pumped, there could be a massive sweeping change in the look of Capitol Hill this November. This, even more than the Presidency, has insider Democrats wringing thier hands. The Democrats were predicting a joyride but John McCain threw a curve ball by bringing Sarah Palin into the mix. All bets are off now. A revolutionary change may be headed our way this November akin to the massive influx of 1994 when Newt Gingrich headed a Republican overhaul of the House and Senate.

OBAMA LOYALISTS CHEERED THE "PIG" COMMENT

We can consider whether the "lipstick on a pig..." comment Obama made was a backhanded or coded insult meant for Governor Palin, which frankly is kind of hard to rationalize. Obama obviously stepped in it with that stupid metaphor but I want to point something out. Listen carefully to the tape as he makes the analogy, the crowd was quiet until he uttered the words "lipstick on a pig..." at that moment, when he said "Pig"... the crowd began to cheer and scream thier approval. I really, truly honestly think "THEY" decided to make the connection in thier minds to Sarah Palin. It's rather obvious, even if Obama didn't mean it to be taken that way... you know that's why the Obama loyalists loved it. They loved it because they despise Sarah Palin because of her effectiveness and they want to see her muddied up, they want to see her cut down and will take any red meat they can get even if it's only thier own twist on a stupid comment.

HOW TO HANDLE THE "LIPSTICK ON A PIG" COMMENT

A lot of fur is flying over Obama's recent comment "You can put lipstick on a pig, It's still a pig.", in his metaphor for the McCain campaign's claim about reforming DC. Sure.., it can easily be taken as an attack on Governor Palin. But that's the easy knee-jerk way to take it. It's joining Obama on the low road to demand an apology for the words, and it accepts the premise that we must only allow politically correct speech as defined by liberals. What needs to be pointed out in this is that Barack Obama has dispensed with his high level rhetoric once and for all, and proven that he is "NOT" articulate when he's backed into a corner. He's desperate, lashing out with low brow metaphors. Now if Obama was thinking... he would have realized that this would be misinterpreted as an attack on Palin by a significant number of people. He was not thinking and it was evident. What we need to do is just point out how he's jumped feet-first into the mud of attack politics, hipocritically ignoring his own vow to keep above the fray, to run a different kind of campagin without negativity. In his own words, on Obama's own campaign web site he states the following... "They said we wouldn't have a chance in this campaign unless we resorted to the same old negative attacks. But we resisted, even when we were written off, and ran a positive campaign that pointed out real differences and rejected the politics of slash and burn." .  Obama has thrown his own words out the window, putting the lie to his so-called positive campaign. What does this mean?  It means that McCain's rising success has Obama rattled like a loose pencil in a tin box and now that he percieves that he actually might not win this.., all bets are off and the claws and the mud are being brought out. Is this the "change" Obama claims to be bringing to DC?  There's nothing new about Obama's brand of politics, and he proves it every day now.
